My feet get uncomfortable if the area around the ball of my foot is snug so I try to buy a wide shoe. Unfortunately that usually means the heal is a bit loose and that is the case with these, not a perfect fit but at least comfortable for me. I have to agree with other reports that the eyelet that is 3rd from the top does seem to have sharp edges so I just bypass that one when lacing up.This pair of boots did not hold up well at all. Purchased August 2020. Used in light intermittent residential application. Now suddenly the front third of the sole came loose while tilling in the garden so it's all dirty in there and cannot be glued. I will not buy this brand again. Made in China of course. Oh for the days when boots and shoes were made in the USA, such as in Nelsonville, Ohio.Also, it had boot lace "eyes" about halfway up that wore out the shoe strings in short order due to sharp edges. I had to use a small file and remove the sharp edges. It still wore the laces in that area.They fit great and are very comfortable. Light weight and won't make your feet hurt if you're in them all day like I am.The advertisement said it was a wide width and yet it was a slender.Almost what I expected. The soles don't grip as well as I would like.I work in machine shop and the floor can get oily at times. The soles on these shoes are supposed to be oil and slip resistant. The first day i wore them I felt like I was on ice skates. I would not recommend these shoes.the eyelet are all rough and tearing up the laces. cannot pull tight because the eyelet are rough. worst set of knapp shoes i have ever had.Knapp boots are getting harder to find. These are what I wanted. I have been wearing Knapp Boots for work for 38 years.
