I bought this thinking it would have the same Gourmet Precision + grinding mechanism of the Derwent pepper grinder, but it doesn't. It all looks a lot cheaper and I assume is made in a different factory in China. (All Cole & Mason production is outsourced to low cost Far-East factories.) I decided to return the unit unused after seeing the product in the flesh and reading the other reviews. It was easy to return via Amazon so I don't regret buying it so I could see what it looked like.If you work for Cole & Mason and are reading this, perhaps consider bringing production back to the UK and improved the quality while you're at it? Maybe to a standard to match Peugeot.I've bought so many pepper grinders of all prices and they have either jammed, give out huge bits of pepper or just broken that I'd given up. This seemed SO expensive but I thought I'd try one last time to get one that was robust and did what it was supposed to. I'm delighted with it as it really is perfect. Grinds easily with a really sturdy robust grinding mechanism and so easy to use. I dint usually leave reviews for anything but this is actually brilliant and will last years.Main problem: The Cole and Mason writing on the product has worn off simply with my finger after only using it for 2 weeks. This is a shame, as it is beautiful and changes the image of it.The grinder otherwise looks great and works excellently.Is this a normal fault?Quality grinding mechanism with lifetime guarantee...quite heavy in weight which gives it an extra quality feelThe grinder is decent enough, doesn't hold much pepper.Good build quality.Update:Only plastic component broke after a year.Replacement was sent free of cost via company's warranty contact.
