Description
This combination hackamore is a mechanical hackamore commonly used in trail riding, team roping and other speed events. This hackamore for horses works off of leverage via a noseband, curb strap/chain and shanks. It works on the nose, chin, lower jaw and poll. If you're having trouble choosing the right horse bit, we recommend you consult with a trusted trainer to discover what works best for you and your horse.

Perfect size for a large (draft mix) horse, and took care of many of the stop issues we had without resorting to a nasty correction bit.Chin chain actually has a different type of connection than shown, one that cannot accidentally come unhooked, which is a plus. The nose piece feels like it is just a curved bar under the leather wrapping - and you can easily purchase a fuzzy padded cover for the nose piece once your horse learns to respond. The mouth piece is a gentle twisted wire snaffle that moves up the side bars as you apply pressure - the more pressure you apply the higher the bit goes (sort of like a gag bit).Depending on how you like your configuration and set up, you would have your first point of contact with either the chin (if chain is set tight) or the nose (if the chain is set loose) followed by the snaffle bit (in case your horse ignores both the chin chain and the nose bar). All this makes for a Perfect 3-Way Bit !
