More crap from China. Buyer beware. If you're looking for an easy and healthy way to cook your steak, then look no further than the Skillet with a wooden plate. This handy cooking tool is made of premium iron and allows you to cook your food wherever you want, indoors or outdoors. Whether at home or in front of a campfire, the Skillet with a wooden plate is the perfect way to create something special for family or friends. Just put everything on the iron, and when it is done, it's served on the same iron while still hot and sizzling. So cool. This is a nice but small cast iron skillet. It is similar to flat irons that some Asian bread is made on. It is not as thick as I thought it would be about 3.8mm or 0.15”. The inner base is only 9” and edge to edge is 9.5”, not the 10” advertised. Other than those few inconsistencies it is a nice skillet. It will do for what I want and being lighter makes it easy to use. If the smaller and lighter weight does not bother you this will be a nice purchase. It is hard to determine if the price is good because these are not readily available so if you want it here it is.My husband love his steak in cast iron anything and since I've gotten this, he has been a steak and egg chef. He loves how quickly and well it cooks. He can cook his steak and eat it on the same dish. The cast iron has a good weight to it. My husband treated it and after 3 months, it still looks good and perform the same. The wood base is a good protection for our table. I also like that the pieces can be used separately. Easy to clean and store. My hubby loves itThis item is described as a skillet, plate, and grill. Whatever one calls it, it is a flat, 1/8-inch thick, cast-iron gizmo with a 1/2-inch, 120-degree angled lip. The cooking surface of the gizmo I received is flawless; the reverse side (bottom) evidences what appears to be an irregular, 5-inch diameter, slightly raised (but smooth) “patch” applied to in the center of the gizmo, apparently to correct for a defect in the sand mold (assuming the mfr uses sand molds to fashion their cast-iron gizmos).I obtained this gizmo to use as a pizza pan, in lieu of a pizza stone. Cast-iron pizza pans heat much faster than a stone (450 degrees in 15 minutes), is unbreakable, and is not going to turn to grunge after a few uses. Notwithstanding the raised, angled lip, a peel readily delivers the pizza onto the center of the pan. To remove the finished pizza, I remove the pan from the oven and slide the pizza over the lip onto a cutting board. The bottom crust is nicely crisped. I’m a pizza guy but whatever else one might use this gizmo for is limited only by one’s creativity.I do not regard the patch to be an issue if, indeed, it is a patch. Pig iron (plus additives) is subject to approximately 1500-degrees C to produce cast iron. The gizmo I received will never see temps above 500 F degrees. Patch notwithstanding, I recommend this gizmo without reservations.
