My feet get uncomfortable if the area around the ball of my foot is snug so I try to buy a wide shoe. Unfortunately that usually means the heal is a bit loose and that is the case with these, not a perfect fit but at least comfortable for me. I have to agree with other reports that the eyelet that is 3rd from the top does seem to have sharp edges so I just bypass that one when lacing up.
