I am a father of a 17 year old daughter and have never used a flat iron and know absolutely nothing about them except they get really hot. My daughter has on older H3000 model which she was very happy with. The only problem is it does not have the auto off feature and she would leave the house with it still on. This particular model has two key features which make it father approved. First, there is an LED strip on the handle that lights up when the thing is turned on. From a distance it is really easy to tell it is still on. Second, is the auto shut off after 30 minutes. I consider this to be an absolute must have feature for any high temperature hair styling appliance. With the peace of mind I now have, I consider this purchase to be money well spent. BTW, my daughter appears to really like this flat iron.
