This is a nice little teapot for serving 1-2 people with Western size portions or even more people if you are serving tea in smaller “tasting size” cups. Remember it is a TEAPOT designed for pouring already heated water into to brew tea. It is NOT a TEA KETTLE which designed for boiling water on the stove. You cannot heat this on the stove or you will damage it. You can buy the compatible cast iron tea warmer to go under it to keep your tea warm. Many people use up to 3 tea light candles in their tea warmer and using this method I can keep my liquid around 140-150 degrees Fahrenheit. (Most people agree 1 tea light in the warmer is not enough). Now be aware if you buy the tea warmer and put 3 candles in it, the teapot handle will be warm but still stay cool enough to handle however the body of the teapot and warmer will get pretty hot to the touch. This heat issue is also true when the teapot is newly filled with freshly boiled water so take care. I recommend some wooden tea tongs for taking the lid on and off and a trivet underneath it all so you don’t scorch your table.
